Lights! Camera! Dinner Party!

Lights! Camera! Dinner Party! is about creating fabulous dinner parties inspired by amazing must-see films. It's also about what makes the dinner party great: delicious food, tasty cocktails, creative decor, and of course lively, interesting conversations.

Hi! My name is Joanna Keylock. I began developing Lights! Camera! Dinner Party! several years ago when I decided to combine two of my greatest passions: fantastic cinema and fabulous dinner parties. 

I LOVE entertaining! Everything about it - preparing, cooking, shaking up the cocktails, decorating the table, great conversations with family and friends - and what better subject is there to discuss than movies?! From thrillers to sci-fi, dramas to musicals, there is always something to talk about and a dinner party to create!  

It all started with a dinner party inspired by the movie Bunny Lake is Missing. It's a 1960's black-and-white British mystery/thriller, starring Sir Lawrence Olivier, and Keir Dullea. I got my friend Sachi Parker on board, and we began preparations for the party. For the menu, we researched classic English dishes, including creamed leeks and Eton Mess. I chose black and white linens and dishes for the table setting (paying homage to director Otto Preminger's black-and-white vision for the film), we found cocktails that were popular in that era - and got excited about the possibilities of what we could do!
